Dear P.S. 80Q Community and Families,

It is with great honor and excitement that I introduce myself as the newly appointed Interim Acting Assistant Principal of P.S. 80. My journey here began in 2017 as a student teacher, and since then, P.S. 80 has truly become my second home. Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching across both the upper and lower grades, building meaningful relationships with our scholars and families, and learning from so many dedicated colleagues along the way.

Throughout my time at P.S. 80, I have worn many hats, each role deepening my commitment to our mission and vision,  and strengthening my love for this school community. These experiences have prepared me to step into leadership with a clear purpose: to continue fostering an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and challenged to reach their fullest potential.

While I am currently on maternity leave, I am truly looking forward to returning in November to embrace this new role and continue serving our community in a leadership capacity. As I transition into this new role, I am filled with gratitude for the trust placed in me and excitement for the work ahead. I look forward to partnering with you—our families, staff, and scholars—as we continue to build on the strong foundation of excellence, community, and care that makes P.S. 80 so special.

Thank you for welcoming me into this new chapter of service and leadership. I am eager to collaborate with you in shaping meaningful experiences that will empower our students to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

With appreciation and enthusiasm,

Nhilcis Abreu

Interim Acting Assistant Principal
