Thurgood Marshall was a trailblazing civil rights leader and the first African American Supreme Court Justice. Renowned for his tireless advocacy for justice and equality, he played a pivotal role in landmark cases, including Brown v. Board of Education, which helped dismantle racial segregation in schools.
We are honored to have our school named after Thurgood Marshall, as his legacy embodies the values of perseverance, justice, and the pursuit of knowledge. By naming our school after him, we celebrate his commitment to education and equality, inspiring our students to become advocates for change and champions of their own futures.
A long time ago, in a quiet forest near a big city, lived a clever young fox named Justice. He was no ordinary fox—he was curious, brave, and had a deep sense of right and wrong. Justice loved to explore, read old books, and listen to stories passed down by the elders of the forest.
One day, while exploring the forest library, Justice discovered a glowing book titled “The Life of Thurgood Marshall.” As he opened it, something magical happened—the pages sparkled, and a powerful voice filled the air:
“Stand up for what’s right, even when it’s hard. Speak up for others. Be brave. Be fair.”
It was the voice of Thurgood Marshall, the first African American Supreme Court Justice and a hero who fought for justice and equality.
From that moment, Justice the Fox made a promise to be a symbol of fairness, courage, and truth—just like Thurgood Marshall.
He studied Marshall’s life and learned how he used his words, knowledge, and heart to change the world. Justice began helping his fellow forest animals solve problems peacefully, making sure everyone had a voice and felt included. He taught them that “being smart is cool, but being kind is powerful.”
One day, he heard about a school called P.S. 80Q in Jamaica NY, where the students were kind, curious, and full of potential—just like him. He knew right away it was his new home.
Now, Justice the Fox proudly represents P.S. 80Q, reminding all students to be:
Smart like a scholar
Brave like Thurgood Marshall
Kind like a true Fox
Every time you see him, remember:
Justice isn’t just a name—it’s a way of life.
